This activity collaborated with three institutions at once, namely the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong, the Special Branch of 'Aisyiyah (PCIA) Hong Kong, and the TCK Learning Center Hong Kong (Chris Drake, M.A.) which was carried out online and offline in July 2023 and has succeeded in arousing the enthusiasm of 45 participants who actively participated in various activities held.

Main Objectives of Training

The primary objective of this training is to enhance the achievement motivation and resilience of female migrant workers in Hong Kong. By focusing on increasing motivation and resilience, it is hoped that participants will be able to face the challenges and obstacles of daily life in their countries of employment.

Activity Method and Material Distribution

Various activity methods were implemented, including lectures, dialogues, games, group work, and assignments. The service team, consisting of lecturers and practitioners, delivered material on achievement motivation and resilience, using interactive and fun methods. Games such as the envelope game and resilience cake were used to increase participant interaction and engagement.

Training is conducted online and offline

The training was conducted online via the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform on July 13 and July 20, 2023. On the third day, the training was held offline at the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong on July 27, 2023. The event was attended by 82 Indonesian migrant workers from various groups, such as the TCKLC and the Hong Kong Special Branch Leadership of 'Aisyiyah (PCIA).

Series of Training Events

The "Achievement Motivation Training to Strengthen the Resilience of Female Migrant Workers in Hong Kong" took place over three days, combining online and offline formats. The event began on July 16, 2023, via Zoom, with 45 participants. The first day was dedicated to a lecture on the concept of individual resilience and resilience-building strategies for mental health. Participants were then engaged in dialogue and completed assignments, including completing an achievement motivation questionnaire.

On July 23, 2023, the event continued online via Zoom, with the themes being resilient and achieving in Hong Kong, growth mindset, and achievement motivation. Participants were also given a creative task to create a future plan in the form of a "Tree of Hope." Throughout the event, participants actively participated and demonstrated high engagement.

The third day, on July 30, 2023, marked the peak of the activity with an offline implementation at the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong, attended by around 82 migrant workers. This training also involved Chris Drake, M.A. from the TCK Learning Center Hong Kong as a speaker. The material presented by the speakers included personal resilience, the dynamics of self-awareness, and building resilience through games and creative tasks, such as making "resilience cookies." All activities were carried out with high enthusiasm, followed by reinforcement and appreciation to groups that successfully completed the tasks well.

Participant Success and Enthusiasm

The training was a success, with active participation from participants. Through various methods and activities, participants not only gained new knowledge but also felt the warmth and support of fellow migrant workers. The culminating event at the Indonesian Consulate General in Hong Kong was a special moment that strengthened bonds among participants and provided valuable experiences.

The benefits of the activity were not only felt by the participants, but also by the Educational Policy Study Program, Department of Philosophy and Sociology of Education, Faculty of Education and Psychology, Yogyakarta State University. For participants, this activity provided an opportunity to increase their motivation and mental resilience, while for the Institution, this activity supported the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPI) by involving students in off-campus activities, encouraging lecturers to be active as practitioners, and providing contributions that could be recognized internationally. This activity explained how the implementation of the Tridharma of Higher Education could have a positive impact in empowering the community.
